My Review

Absolutely a solid 4.5 stars from Kristen Ashley.

This book focuses on Tom, Ginny's ex husband, and his quest back to finding himself and a partner who will be just that -- a partner.

Tom met Mika at a party years ago, and she was instantly falling for him. He wanted to continue their friendship, but she refused noting the pain of loving a man she couldn't have. They both moved on - him with Ginny and her with a new love that tragically died after they conceived a child.

Now they're reconnected. Mika, an artist, has a daughter about to graduate from high school, and while they technically live in New York, they're in Arizona so that she can finish her latest creative piece and her daughter can finish school. Tom is finding himself, and realizes that he gave everything for Ginny and didn't really get anything in return. Ginny's career always came first, even at the expense of his, and later in their marriage Tom's needs were second.

As these two find themselves together, the families start to merge, you find that he's finally met his "match" in an equal partner, and one that puts him as a priority. Of course, Chloe has her hands in all of this, as does others.

We also get a bit more insight into Hale and his involvement with the reporter, Elsa.

She looked beyond him and called, “Hey, Mom.”

Suddenly, Tom felt like he’d been punched in the chest, his breath not coming easy.

Dragging some in, he turned and saw Mika standing there.

She was wearing a kaftan dress with a low V at the neck, draping sleeves and a string through an empire waist that gathered the material. The print on a black background was mostly reds, oranges and pinks with bright accents of green and blue and turquoise. She had some flat, embroidered mules on her feet. And her still-golden hair was up in a messy knot on top of her head.

Even though she was dressed like she was hanging around the house, she wore makeup. Mostly neutral but with black cat’s-eye, drawing focus to her eyes and the startling sea-blue color of the iris. She had some delicate chain bracelets at her wrists and a number of piercings in her ears, with studs or small hoops running up the shell, and dangling beads coming from the lobe. 

She looked the picture of what a poet, photographer, novelist, filmmaker would look like. An easy style that was not unique, but she made it that way.
She was also still one of the most attractive women he’d ever laid eyes on.
In fact, he’d go so far as saying she was in the top two, vying for number one.

“Tom,” she greeted.

“Mika,” he replied, and then was surprised yet again in his short visit to her home.

He saw a soft pink rise in her cheeks, the kind a woman got when she felt nervous or didn’t know what to do with flattery, something he hadn’t offered, unless she caught it in his gaze.

She looked to her daughter and ordered, “Scram, kid.”

Any time I can jump back into the Charley Davidson world, I run! RUN to grab a copy.

This one features our favorite Biker Donovan as he's trying to keep our favorite mini-God happy. He's been tasked by Beep to keep an eye on their resident doctor, and Donovan is happy to comply as 1. It's a request from Beep, and 2. He's completely smitten with the doc.

This one ends with a special moment between Donovan and list long lost BFF. No spoilers, IFKYK.

“What are you doing?” a smooth, deep voice asked from behind her.

Sia spun around, fear and guilt seizing her lungs, though she couldn’t fathom what she had to feel guilty about. She clutched her phone to her chest, her gaze darting about. Because that surely was a great look on her. “Nothing,” she said after a moment. “What are you doing?”

Donovan’s dark lashes lowered over irises shimmering softly in the streetlamp’s light as he studied her. He tilted his head to one side, causing a lock of dark hair to fall over his brow. “Is everything okay, Doc?” 

Forcing a smile at that point in her life was like peeling taffy that had melted and then cooled again off her car dashboard, but she finally managed to do it. “Of course. “How’s Elwyn?” she asked, deflecting. Her cheeks burned, and she thanked the powers for low light. Blushing was another human trait she despised.After a long moment, Donovan lifted a shoulder. “You’d know better than me, you being her medic and all.”

Donovan had been the first member of the group she’d met when she walked up to the main house of the Loehr’s compound, the one constructed to keep Charley’s daughter safe. My Review

The final book in the Winslow Brothers is a perfect mix of sweet, tragic, and funny. Remy is the last brother to have his story told.

Cleo, the psychic's prediction came true and he was in fact, left at the altar. Fast forward 15 years, and all his siblings are now married (or about to be). are having children, and Remi is the lone single one and ultimate uncle to Lexi and others. He runs into his high school sweetheart Maria when they're stuck in an elevator one day. Maria is pregnant, but it wasn't really her child. She was a surrogate for her sister and brother-in-law.

Another elevator event with these two changes their circumstances, and their future together. At the end, it's yet another elevator that seals the deal!

Just like other novels, you get all the Winslow family, including some updates and key developments from Lexi who is becoming a teenager. I'm hoping that she will have her story told one day, as she's one of the few characters that has been consistently appearing in all the Winslow novels.

My fingers run across the screen quickly, and I don’t even bother looking up before stepping inside the elevator—and bumping right into another human.

He grunts as he catches my momentum by the tops of my arms, and I nearly jump into another dimension.
