My Review
It's no surprise that I am a Kristen Ashley fan. Back from the early days of Rock Chick series, I would barrel through her novels. This one was no different, and focused on Jagger Black, the son of slain Chaos brother Black. While Jagger is visiting his father's grave site, he sees another family laying someone to rest. He locks eyes with the girl, sees a brother and father, and quickly understands who was lost. He decides to say, and leaves a note for them that he gets it.
Jagger and Archie continue to see each other over the years, and there's several missed connections and missed chances, when either one of them wasn't ready to move forward. Then one day he sees her running down the street after a teen and he jumps in the fray to lend a hand. This is the point where they really connect.
Their relationship develops quickly, and yet, he's holding something back. As the two start their journey together, there's flashbacks to both parents, interactions with their two sets of families, and discoveries that in the end, are more meaningful than anything I've ever seen in a KA book. This one was well written, has little angst, and has multiple connections to Chaos. This is probably one of my favorite novellas related to Chaos, and I'm hoping that the expansion of stories, including that of Archie's brother are included in future books.

“You wanna know what I think?” Hound asked. Jagger tipped his head back to look at his dad. Then Hound told him what he thought. “I think you’re in. And I think if you walk away from this girl, you’ll regret it for the rest of your life. And I think I’m here to tell you that because you need another voice sayin’ something you already know.” “That’s what I think too,” Jagger admitted. Hound nodded, and again he did it only once. “Then I’ll look forward to havin’ her over to dinner and celebrating with your mom that she can finally stop worrying about you because she’s feelin’ you shoulda been done sowin’ those oats about five years ago.” Jagger grinned at him. His mother had never been at one with the way Jag tackled life, considering he’d always been about wresting as much of it as he could for his own. Dutch was the quiet, responsible one. Jag was… Not. Hound reached out and caught Jag by the neck, gave him a squeeze, a shove, then let him go. And Jagger felt better. “So, what’s her name?” Hound asked. “Archie.” Hound looked him right in the eye. Then he burst out laughing. He settled back into the bar, his fingers cradling his brew, and he was shaking his head. “Archie and Georgie. Fuck,” Hound said. Jag hadn’t thought of that, both him and Dutch finding girls with boys’ names. He grinned, leaned back into the bar himself, and replied, “She doesn’t have red hair and freckles, and I seriously doubt her best friend’s name is Jughead, but I think she might have a bit of tomboy in her.” “Well, son,” Hound picked up his beer and tipped it toward Jag, “you’re about to find out.” Jag grabbed his beer and tapped necks with Hound. And he was grinning again. Because Hound was right. He was.

My Review
Blake has been enamored with Rebecca for a while, and when he finally
gets the chance to cheer her up, he takes advantage and the two go off
on an adventure while ditching school. The next day however, he ignores
her, and continues to do so for two years. She's upset, as she thought
they had a connection and can't understand why he's ghosting her.
Fast
forward to now, and she's an OB nurse, and runs into him while visiting
a patient. The two reconnect and he tries to repair their relationship,
she's still wary, and the rest of her siblings are along for the ride.
I
really enjoyed this one and the sensitivity and vulnerability of Blake,
as well as the strength of Rebecca. Beyond that -- it's set in Berkeley
and the story took me along the trip down my own memory lane,
revisiting my favorite spots in the area. Unlike many novels that set up
a story in a city this was completely accurate! From the coffee to
pizza, the hillside hikes. For me, it added to the story and made me
want more. Looking forward to this series!

My Review
Luna is an expert crafter. When she has the opportunity to join a
reality tv show to create a DIY wedding, she enters her brother and his
fiance in the show to help them win the contest and gain an upgraded New
York apartment as the top prize.
When Luna shows up, she
encounters Alec, who believes that she's an assistant and demands she
find him coffee. He's a divorce lawyer who is there to try and repair
his relationship with his brother who is also a contestant on the show.
Luna
and Alec run into each other at the local diner and trade insults, he
continues to make her life hell and she's making him equally as
frustrated. In desperation, he searches for Luna on social media to get
ideas for his brother to help improve their performance on the next DIY
challenge, and she ends up discovering that her new follower is Alec.
Feeling sorry for him, she offers to help him.
This is a true
enemies to lovers story with the typical hilarity you would expect from
Meghan Quinn. It also includes the added family relationships and
outrageous side characters she's known for. Enjoyed this one and hoping
that luna's roommate gets her own story soon!
