There are three things you need to know about Shane P.I.
1) P.I. is not her last name, it's her job title,
2) Her specialty is catching cheaters, and
3) She's a superhuman - kind of.

Gabriel is a security expert for Cipher Security, and a former UN Peacekeeper with a fierce protective streak that finds its focus on the beautiful P.I.
Their attraction is like an elephant in a room full of breakable things, and figuring out how to trust each other with their hearts, and maybe their lives, is the most fragile thing of all.

'Code of Conduct' is a full-length romantic suspense novel, can be read as a standalone, and is book#1 in the Cipher Security series, Knitting in the City World, Penny Reid Universe.

My Review
If you’ve read Neanderthal Meets Human, and the other Knitting in the City series, and have ever wondered what life is like with Quinn Sullivan (aka Sir Handsome McHotpants) at work…now you know!

Code of Conduct is the first in the Cipher Security series (you know, the one that Quinn owns), and features Gabriel, a former UN Peacekeeper and current security expert who runs across a PI investigating one of his clients. Well, investigating, and transferring half of said client’s ill-gained fortune to the wife that hired her to see if he was cheating.

Shane (not her real name), is a private investigator that specializes in catching cheaters, after having some experience in this area and not recognizing the signs. She’s as unique as her name, has a giant dog named Oscar, and a team of friends that support her work and personal life.

These two characters were quite different from anyone else in the Pennyverse, yet, they weren’t. You can recognize the smart, competent women and the men who support them. You also get a bit of the alpha-nerdy men who aren’t afraid to wear their heart on their sleeve, and heat up the bedroom with their women. They’re not stereotypical hero/heroines, but they shouldn’t be. There’s a ton of campy pop-culture references that my “90’s Must See TV Thursday-night” self absolutely loved revisiting! Plus, you get to revisit Quinn, Sandra, Alex, Dan, and a few others.

My favorite quite:
“You could never be normal. Extraordinary is not normal. Stunning is not normal. Brilliant is. Not. Normal.”
